Michael Franchot
Foster
Aug 13, 1949 — May 3, 2026
Foster, Michael Franchot, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2026, in his home.
He was the beloved husband for 54 years of Jacquelyn Lynne Foster (née Hass); loving father of Stephanie (Scott) Weiler; cherished grandfather of Audrey and Lillian Weiler; son of the late William and Milena Foster (née Paceosi); brother of Stephen Foster and Mark (Connie) Foster; and a dear uncle, brother-in-law, cousin, and friend to many.
Because his father served as a Major in the Army, Michael attended many schools throughout the United States and Europe. He lived in Austria, Germany, and most notably Italy, where he developed a deep and lasting love for the country. His mother, Milena, was Italian and came from Montecatini Terme, just north of Florence, in beautiful Tuscany, a connection Michael carried with pride throughout his life. He remained closely connected to family in Italy and spoke fluent Italian.
Michael devoted 38 years to McDonnell Douglas/Boeing, where he worked in procurement for both the F-15 and F-18 military aircraft. He took great pride in his work and the many years he spent there.
Above all, Michael lived life fully and with joy. He treasured and adored his wonderful wife, Jackie. He loved watching sporting events, enjoyed traveling, and especially cherished time with his granddaughters, Audrey and Lillian, who brought him tremendous pride and happiness.
