Mitchell, Nancy Louise (Rice), age 94, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John W. Mitchell; her parents, Otto and Mildred (Hughes) Rice; and her siblings, Susan and Don Rice.

Nancy was a loving mother to Rob (Jaime Caban) Mitchell, Christine Berry, and Tori (Mike) Parker; a cherished grandmother to Jaime (Shane) Rowland, Lexi Heyer, Trae Berry, Cole (Savannah) Berry, Chandler (Parker) Hendricks, Michael and Caroline Parker; and a proud great-grandmother to Elizabeth and Ryan Rowland.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Nancy began her career as a secretary at McDonnell Douglas, where she earned the opportunity to fly solo after only 7.5 hours of training. She later continued her career at St. John's Mercy Hospital in the Labor and Delivery Department, as a unit secretary typing birth certificates where she retired after 33 years of service.

Nancy contributed her beautiful voice to the choirs at Richmond Heights Presbyterian and Bonhomme Presbyterian Church for decades. An avid bridge player who loved a good party, she made everyone feel welcome, and always did so with impeccable style. She was a true sports fanatic always cheering-on her favorite teams: the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Rams. Nancy loved the treasures of St. Louis, especially The Muny and the zoo, and generously shared that passion with family and friends.

Service:  A celebration of life will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at Schrader Funeral Home & Crematory, 14960 Manchester Rd., Ballwin, MO 63011.
