Anderson, Norma Elvira (nee Powers), passed away, Tuesday, July 7, 2026. Beloved wife of James D. Anderson; dear mother of Scott D. (Lisa) Anderson, Sharon Gould and Steven W. Anderson; proud grandmother of Tyler (Gabriela) Anderson, Heather (Barrett) Bogatto, Brendan (Victoria) Gould, Erin Gould, Nathan Anderson and Noelle Anderson; great grandmother of Mila and Sofia Anderson; dear friend to many.

Norma's nursing career lasted nearly 60 years.  That career started with a degree in nursing from Capital University and finished as a Professor of Nursing at St. Louis University, where she taught for over 30 years.  During this time, she earned her Certificate in Public Health Nursing  and a Doctorate in Higher Education.  In addition, she was active in research, publishing numerous articles and serving in various positions with The Missouri Nurses Association  and the American Public Health Association.

Norma and her late husband Jim were long-term members of Trinity Lutheran Church where she served as a Deacon.  Norma also volunteered as a parish nurse with two churches in St. Louis.  She literally touched thousands of lives.  She enjoyed golf, reading and music.  She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Services:  Memorial service at Meramec Bluffs Chapel, Ballwin, Monday, July 20, 2026, 10 a.m. Interment PRIVATE. If desired contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association .
