Obituary

Beile, Patricia "Pat" Ann (nee Karleskint), born April 7, 1937 - died June 19, 2026.

Pat was born in St. Louis April 7, 1937 to parents James Karleskint and Esther Christoffersen) Karleskint. Waiting at home was older brother James, born in 1935 and a sister Kathryn, who would be born 18 months later.

The Karleskint family had 9 children and the Christoffersen family 7 children and were well known in the communities of Kirkwood and Webster. For example, Durbin's and Karleskint's formed the Durbin Durco Co. in 1938 and during World War II an article was written detailing that every branch of the service had a Karleskint son in its ranks. Many Karleskint cousins still live in the area today.

The Christoffersens also prominent in the area came by way of Copenhagen Denmark in the early 1900's. The patriarch Lars Christoffersen wound up taking a train to downtown Kirkwood and never left. Lars found a job delivering coal and ice to Kirkwood residents. He decided that his path to success was saving and buying land. He did that and wound up owning a large part of what is now downtown Kirkwood. The last piece he owned was sold in the 70's to build a Target across from City Hall. Lars passed on his good fortune to his children, giving each one of his seven children a home as a wedding gift. Pat grew up with her brother James and sister Kathryn at 843 N Woodlawn in Kirkwood, a gift from her grandfather Lars Christoffersen.

Pat was a wonderful, loving, funny and beautiful person inside and out. She has left a true legacy as a mother and grandmother that we will all cherish forever. She would do anything for her two children, Jamey and Joe. A protective and loving parent as there would ever be. Whenever friends came over to play hockey or basketball, they knew there would be a break when she would bring out hot dogs, snacks and sodas for the crew. She always made Jamey and Joes friends feel that they were part of the Beile family.

Pat always had such empathy and compassion for elderly people and with her beloved grandchildren now older she still wanted to give her time to people who might need help. In her later years when she herself was slowing down a little and she had aches and pains she was a caregiver for the elderly and was always a favorite because she cared for them like a loving family member would which is rare.

She was a rue giver of love and light to everyone in her presence. Even after her stroke which took her ability to walk and talk, she never lost her wonderful sense of humor. Whenever you saw her at the Garden View care center, she tried to give any comfort when could by holding the hand of another elderly person or trying to help in any way that she could. Never thinking of herself but worried about others right to the end.

Pat had a true love for the Catholic Church. Pat graduated from St. Peters in Kirkwood and Ursuline Academy. Continuing that tradition with both her sons. Jamey, graduated from St. Margaret Mary in Winter Park, Florida. The family had a close relationship with Fr. Seibert and Sister Ann from Nativity Catholic Church in Longwood, Florida, where Jamey was an altar boy. Joe with to Mary Queen of Peace and Chaminade in St. Louis.

Fr. Schrader form Incarnate Word was Pat's current parish and performed Pat's Last Rites with both her sons joining the ceremony in prayers. This was hugely important to Pat and her family and so appreciated.

Pat was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. Pat was preceded by her parents, husband, Milton Joseph Beile Jr., brother, James Karleskint, and nephew Garry.

She is survived by sons Joe and (Marta) and Jamey and (Amy), grandchildren Mary and Kayla, great grandchildren Silas, Ava, Delaney, and Kayla's great grandbaby Tate due October 2026. Sister Kathryn, niece, Karen, nephews Greg, Terry, Rickey, Jerry, Raymond and Jackie. Dozens of Karleskint cousins.
