Patricia D. Bava (nee Freedman), 91 years young, originally from Chicago, passed away peacefully with family around her on July 10, 2026.

Born to the late Russell C. and Helen C. Freedman (nee Rathnow), Patricia grew up in a lively household as one of four siblings. She shared her life's journey with her brother, Phillip (Pam) Freedman, and was preceded in death by her brothers, Russell (Jan) Freedman and Gerard (Sandy) Freedman.

Patricia's greatest joy and proudest achievement was the large, beautiful family she raised. Her devotion, strength, and warmth live on through her six children: Dominic (Karen) Bava, Michael (Valerie) Bava, Mark (Patty) Bava, Phillip (Cathy) Bava, Frances (Michael) Connelly, and Gerard (Terry) Bava.

As the matriarch of an ever-growing family, Patricia's love multiplied across generations. She was the cherished grandmother to 18 grandchildren and the proud great-grandmother to 20 with two more on the way, each of whom brought immense light and happiness to her life.

Services: To honor Patricia's life, there will be a memorial mass held at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church in Glen Ellyn, IL on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest privately, at Holy Family Cemetery in Downers Grove at a later time. In lieu of flowers or formal gatherings, her family invites those who knew her to celebrate her memory by spending time with loved ones, embracing the family bonds that Patricia held so dear.

As a service of the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, friends may sign the family's on-line guestbook at Schrader.com.
