Patricia Ann
Bergen (Nee Glenn)
Aug 3, 1932 — Oct 7, 2025
Chesterfield
Patricia Ann Bergen (nee Glenn), passed away, Tuesday, October 7, 2025.
Beloved wife of the late Robert Bergen. Loving aunt of Janice Novaro, Betty Reed, Nealy Glenn, Karen Glenn, Kathy Glenn, Nicki (Kelly) Kinder, Randi Brooks, William (Kathy) Glenn, Susan Glenn. Dearest great aunt, great great aunt, cousin and friend of many.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Nealy and Goldia Glenn; siblings, Bernice (Kenneth "Doc") Reed, Clifford (Eleanor) Glenn, Irvin (Lillian) Glenn, Lolita (John) Nagy, John (Jean) Glenn, William (Marge) Glenn, Peggy (Bill) Brooks, and Jean (Harold "Joe") Krebs; nephews, John Reed and John Nagy; nieces, Eleanor Glenn and Lisa Brooks.
Pat was born in 1932 in Benton, IL. After she graduated from high school, she moved to Alton, IL where she lived with her mother and 2 younger sisters. She got a job with a bus company for a short while. Then, she began her 20 year career with the Social Security Administration. She worked her way up to a manager position before she retired in the 1970's.
Pat met and married Robert Bergen. They enjoyed traveling together. Each year they'd take a car trip - usually taking a route that took them to Las Vegas, a favorite destination.
Pat loved music. She played the piano and sang in several choirs. A favorite memory of hers was singing with the St. Louis Symphony. Pat was an avid reader and enjoyed discussing books with her nieces. She truly enjoyed her group of friends at The Chesterfield Villas. She lived there 6 years and had a group of friends that kept her active with Bridge, book clubs, Bingo and other fun times.
Pat was witty and fun. She was always ready to go to a casino or out to dinner. She was very resilient. If life knocked Pat down, she didn't complain - she just worked at it until she was back on her feet. She always said, "It is what it is."
Pat will certainly be missed by her family and friends.
Services: A private interment will be held.
