Obituary

Patricia A. Erbs

December 27, 1935 – August 5, 2026

Patricia, known to most of us as Pat, Mom or Grandma, the daughter of the late Russell and Irene Henderson was born December 27, 1935, in St. Louis, Missouri. At the age of 18, she graduated from St. John's High School and continued pursing her nursing passion by graduating from St. John's Hospital School of Nursing in 1956. While working summers at Camp Matre De as a camp counselor, she met her husband Robert Erbs who was working summers at Camp Dom Bosco taking care of the camp's horses and grounds.  Pat and Bob were married in 1956 and started their family raising four children in their family home in Ballwin, Missouri.  Pat had a long and distinguished career with St. John's when she retired in 1997 as a night nursing supervisor. She was hailed as the IV Queen because she could always find a vein and used it as a training opportunity.  Pat walked through the halls of the hospital every night, when she could, so that she could meet her team and be there for them.  We heard this during her recent brief stay at St. John's/Mercy; there were a few nurses that recognized her because they were new recruits to Pat's team before Pat retired.  Pat and Bob were married for almost 50 years and built a life centered on faith, family, and service.

Pat had many interests.  She was an excellent seamstress making her own wedding gown and those of her daughters, that also included bridesmaid and flower girls' dresses. She cherished spending time with her children and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Education was extremely important to Pat. She always encouraged and supported her grandchildren and great grandchildren to attend the best university program that matched their education goals.  Pat loved to travel and took many cruises with Bob and friends.  Her favorite place was her condo on Table Rock Lake in Branson, Missouri, or in her back yard with a glass of wine reflecting on how great her life was and what God had blessed her with over her 90 years.

Pat was the loving wife of the late Robert Erbs. Beloved mother of Sharon (the late Steve) Weber, Eileen (Joseph) Karlovich, Robert (Judy) Erbs Jr. and Mary Pat (Gary) Myers. Grandmother of Louise (Phil) Kuhlmann, Lauren (Matt) Laliberte, Christine (Jason) Bell, Melissa (Michael) Murray, Michelle (Drew) Erbs, Nicole Erbs, Athena Erbs, Madeline (Ben) Kraus, Katherine (Tyler) Matheny and Claire Myers. Great-grandmother of Giovanni, Vincenzo, Luciano, Christian, Camille, Bernadette, John, Thomas, Joseph, Piper, Rosalie, Leo and Eloise. Sister of the late James Henerson. Daughter of the late Russell and Irene Henderson.

Per her wishes, Pat donated her body to St. Louis University where she understood the need for human donations after having graduated from St. Louis University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1976. A celebration of her life is planned at St. Clare Church in Ellisville, Missouri, on Saturday, November 28, 2026, time TBD, with lunch and a time for fellowship immediately following the service. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and celebrate the life of a woman who touched so many through her faith, kindness, and enduring spirit.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Pat's honor to:
