Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt memories that we share that Paul James Crowe passed away September 11, 2025 at the age of 63 after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. A St. Louis native, Paul was the loving son of Robert and JoAnn Crowe; beloved husband to Margie Crowe; devoted "Dad" (and father-in-law) to Lindsey Burgess (Jonny Burgess), Danny Crowe (Abby Crowe), and Jeremy Crowe; treasured "Papa" to his grandsons Landon and Jackson Burgess; dear brother to Dan Crowe (Jennifer Crowe) and Michelle Scarring (Matt Scarring); and cherished uncle, cousin, colleague, and true friend to many.

To know Paul was to know that his family was at the heart of everything. He fell in love with a girl at the bakery 45 years ago, Margie, and devoted himself to her and raising their 3 adoring children. An incredibly present and hands-on father with some of the most endearing (ahem worst) dad jokes, he left as lasting an impression on his own kids as he did their friends. If you talked to him in the past 6 years, you'd know within minutes that he was also a downright obsessed grandfather always ready to share a donut or bowl of ice cream with his grandsons. Paul was a lot of things, but among them not a world traveler; he only ever wanted to visit his children and their families, knowing that time with the people he loved was what mattered most in his life.

His legacy has been immediately evident in the days following his passing where alongside hugs and tears there have been no shortage of stories filled with belly-aching laughter. Paul approached life as a big kid with a big heart and a big smirk. He was a light in everyone's day.

Paul also had an incredible commitment and drive to be his best - at work, in the gym, and in his life. He was a talented athlete who played every sport imaginable before his Parkinson's diagnosis and still loved to watch and stress over his favorite teams up until the very end. After spending a decade in accounting and finance with a degree from Mizzou (Go Tigers), he worked at the intersection of his passions - sports and people - as a high school sport fundraising coach for the past 25 years.

With an overwhelming outpouring of love and support for his family, Paul clearly had an impact on more people than anyone could have imagined. While searching for words to make sense of this moment, we found a sentiment that could not ring more true: "This loss is immeasurable, but so is the love left behind."
