It is with joyfulness in our hearts for a life well lived and sadness in our souls for the loss endured that we announce the passing of Paul Anthony Panus on September 29, 2026. Paul was born on February 18, 1961, in the city of St. Louis, Missouri to parents Ray and Judy. He was a loving brother of Jeff (Wanda) and sister Nancy. When he was a teenager, he started working at an auto parts distribution warehouse, beginning his long and loyal career that spanned decades across owners and roles where he made lifelong friends. He first met Sue (Kirby) Panus in 1987, married her in 1995, and together they built a blessed and shared life of family, friends, and heartwarming celebration. Paul had a passion for music that found him traveling to jazz festivals and attending concerts, and he was rarely without a soundtrack whether internal or external. He was a devoted supporter of the musical talents of his niece Claire and grandsons Jack and Luke, attending as many performances as he could. He boisterously rooted on the St. Louis Cardinals and cheered at wrestling matches with his cousin Nick, but he also relished in the calm and quiet moments spent soaking in the sun or watching a sunset. He was a man of enduring faith and an unwavering believer in the power of prayer, constantly saying prayers for family, friends and strangers. He was a caring and generous person, and the world will be dimmer without his presence.
Paul was preceded in death by parents Ray and Judy and his sister Nancy. Paul leaves behind his wife Sue, brother Jeff (Wanda), niece Claire, daughters Shannon and Heather (John), grandsons Jack and Luke, and countless family members and friends who will miss him deeply.
