Richard Arthur
Witte
Aug 26, 1939 — Sep 9, 2026
St. Louis
Richard Arthur Witte of St. Louis, Missouri, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Richard was born in St. Louis to Arthur and Lucille Witte. He attended Southwest High School and proudly served four years in the United States Navy as a Machinist's Mate Second Class, U.S.N.R.-R., aboard the USS Jason.
Richard shared 63 loving years of marriage with his wife, Marilyn. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around family, friendship, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn; his children, Kara Witte and Michael (Angie) Witte; grandchildren, John D. Richard "JJ" (Sami) Sauceda, Reis Witte, and Ryan Witte; and great-grandchildren, Kasidy and Aubrey Sauceda.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved brother, Robert "Bob" Witte.
Richard enjoyed a fulfilling career with Anheuser-Busch, where he worked as a maintenance engineer at the Yeast Plant before retiring at the age of 54. He remained active throughout retirement, participating in the Metro Golf League and even competing in the Senior Olympics Golf Tournament. One of his proudest moments was getting a hole-in-one in Hilton Head, a special accomplishment he was always happy to remember.
Richard cherished the time he spent with his big brother, Bob, whether golfing, talking, or simply reminiscing about the good times they shared.
Above all, Richard loved his family. He could often be found cheering from the sidelines and celebrating his children's and grandchildren's accomplishments. He never missed an event. He enjoyed sharing meals with friends and researching anything that sparked his curiosity. His sense of humor-including his ongoing conversations with "Siri"-brought smiles and laughter to those around him.
Richard will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and loyal friend-a man whose kindness, humor, curiosity, and love touched generations.
He leaves behind a lifetime of love, laughter, friendship, and treasured memories. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
