Buss, Robert Raymond, Ph.D. passed away, Monday, January 6, 2025.

Beloved husband of Gail Buss; loving son of the late Eugene and Dolores Buss; dearest brother of Mary Rita (the late David) Langston, Lorraine Buss and Margie (Ron) Fitzler; our dear uncle, great-uncle and friend of many.

Dr. Robert R. Buss wanted to teach mathematics since he was eleven years old. He majored in math and earned a master's degree from The Ohio State University before attending and earning his Ph.D. at St. Louis University.

He taught at many area schools including Parkway West, Parkway Central, Chaminade and McBride all of where he served as calculus teacher and department chairman. He began AP Calculus at McBride as well as Parkway West. He taught calculus for 38 years.

In 1985 Bob received The Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching, representing the State of Missouri. He had also served as President of Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics as well as President of the Missouri Council of Greater St. Louis. He spent 22 years as the editor of the Bulletin from the Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics.

Bob was also a great Cardinal fan and loved to watch and listen to baseball games. And he was a wonderful traveler and I'm proof of that. We had 36 years together travelling as best we could.
