Ronald Joseph Bishop, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend passed away peacefully in his home on September 30th, 2025, in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of 89.
Born on April 19, 1936, in St. Louis, Ron grew up with a deep love for his family, faith, country and friends. After graduating from Southwest High School, he joined the Army to serve our country and graduated with his degree from Washington University. Ron had a decades-long career as a system analyst/engineer with Boeing, formerly known as McDonnell Douglas before taking early retirement at 57 to spread his wings and explore his entrepreneurial endeavors.
Ron met the love of his life, Janet, at the age of 5 years old at Reen Memorial Church after growing up together as children they were married and shared 65 years together raising their children, enjoying their church, neighbors, weekends at the Lake of the Ozarks, amazing travels including seeing and supporting their grandchildren. He was a devoted father to Ken and Kim, grandfather to Erin, Jeffrey, Michael and Stephanie, great grandfather to Mason and loved all their spouses/partners Danette, John, Michael Patrick, Carter, Abbey, and Eryk. His family will forever cherish memories of the trips he and Jan took them on, a multitude of holidays together, and most importantly the example he set for them in how he lived his life every single day.
Ron was a man of quiet steadiness that you could always count on, he had a quick wit, wonderful sense of humor and a smile that was both heartwarming and reassuring. He lived his life centered around his faith and family and it showed up every day when someone needed a helping hand or a simple pick me up, he was there to provide it.
He is survived by his wife Jan; children Ken and Kim, Grandchildren Erin, Jeffrey, Michael, Stephanie; great grandson Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Helen and sister, Delores.
