Ronald C. "Ron" Reed, age 84, of Ballwin, Missouri, passed away on August 1, 2026. He was born August 11, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Charles "Chet" and Beulah "Billie" (nee Warncke) Reed, and grew up in Hillsboro, Missouri.

Ron married the love of his life, Janet (nee Pieper) Reed, on April 22, 1967 (59+ years). He was the beloved father of David and Stephen, proud grandfather of Alyssa and Alexander Reed, and dear uncle to many nieces and nephews.   Ron was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joyce Edwards.

Ron graduated from Hillsboro High school and attended the University of Missouri (Mizzou) before being drafted into the U.S. Army on November 26, 1963, where he served in Germany. He was discharged in November 1965 and immediately enlisted in the Army Reserves, ultimately serving a total of 27 years and retiring as a Master Sergeant. He was deeply proud of his military service throughout his life.
Above all else, he cherished time with his family - coaching his sons' teams, planning family vacations, and later delighting in his role as grandfather.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 6, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Schrader Funeral Home & Crematory, 14960 Manchester Rd, Ballwin, MO 63011.  A chapel service will be on Friday at 9:00am at Schrader Funeral Home & Crematory, with burial to follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 10:30am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ron's memory to the American Cancer Society or the USO .
