Obituary

Rose Mary Applegate passed into eternal life on January 30th, 2026, at Friendship Village in Chesterfield, Missouri.  She was 92.

Rose was born and raised in St.  Louis, Missouri. She was a graduate of St. Mark High School.

Rose lived life to the fullest and was a woman of many accomplishments and joys.  She was an amazing mother and grandmother, devoted wife and dedicated to her Catholic faith. The foundation of her personal life and professional career was love of God, family and friends.

Rose was an administrator for 20 years at the Pallottine Renewal Center in Florissant, MO. The Pallottine Missionary Sisters built a complex to house sisters and provide a retreat location for those looking to strengthen their faith. Rose took great pride in aiding the sisters in their mission.

Rose was a kind; gentle and loving person and she will be remembered as a tremendous mother. Her kind heart made the soul of the Applegate Family. She was known to all who met her for her generosity and unwavering support.

Her greatest joy was her amazing husband and partner of 65 years Fred J Applegate. Jr. They cherished and loved each other and the devotion they shared is a shining light for all to follow. The couple was blessed with many exceptional friends.

Family always came first and her survivors and those who will miss her dearly include her son David Applegate, daughter-in-law Martha (Webster) Applegate, three grandchildren Christopher (Kelli) Applegate, Michelle (Stephen) Rizzaro and Bradley Applegate.  Rose also had five great grandchildren Kathleen, Hugh, Waller, Hannah and Wesley.

Rose's legacy will continue through the love she shared with her family and friends.
