Ruth Ann (Pruitt) Hansen, 88, of Dardenne Prairie, MO passed away on Sunday February 1, 2026, at home on hospice with her family by her side.  She was born on November 29, 1937, in Hillview, Greene County, Illinois to the late Ishmael Robert and Mary Louise (Dale) Pruitt.  She was proceeded in death by her brother John Robert "Bob" Pruitt of Eldred, IL; and sister in-laws Joanie and Marlene.

She grew up on a farm just north of Eldred, IL.  After graduating Carrollton High School in 1955, she married her husband on July 7, 1956, and moved to the Chicago area.  In 1968, they relocated to Ellisville, MO. Finally in 2002, they moved to Dardenne Prairie.

Ruth Ann earned an Associates Applied Science degree.  She worked in various secretarial positions and retired as a legal secretary from Kellwood in 1989.  Since then, she has enjoyed many happy years in retirement with her husband traveling and seeing the country in their RVs, attending and displaying/selling her work at craft shows, sewing, and working part-time in fabric/ sewing machine stores mainly to get the discounts and for the social benefits.  She was a life-long, die-hard hockey fan rarely missing a Blues game on TV.  Most of all she loved spending time with her grand and great-grand-children.  She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
