Hille, Ruth Elaine, passed away, Saturday, September 19, 2026.

Beloved sister of Clete (Sue) Hille, Ken (Cheryl) Hille, Rita Schackmann, Dale Hille, Jim (Karen) Hille, Karen (Paul Cross) Staton, Dan (Peg) Hille, Janet (Brent) Kerner; cherished aunt, great aunt, and friend to many.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Esther Hille, her sisters, Susan Hille and Jane Hille Tipps, and her brother-in-law, Art Schackmann.

Ruth was a graduate of St. Anthony High School in Effingham, Illinois, she went on to earn her degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.

Guided by a strong spirit of community, Ruth spent countless hours giving back. She generously shared her time and heart with Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Valley Park, Meals on Wheels, Missouri Baptist Hospital, Forest Park, and the City of Manchester. Her quiet contributions left a lasting mark on the community she loved.

Ruth’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Nancy Bartlett, as well as the compassionate friends and care teams at Laclede Groves, Barnes-Jewish Hospital, and Evelyn’s House. A very special thank you to Fran Jackson-her guardian angel on earth-along with Laura Stuetzer, Linda Dani, Mary Dohogne, and Sally Adams for their steadfast love, support, and friendship.

Services: Memorial service will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Grade School in Effingham, Illinois.
