Obituary

Sara Jane Nichols, 45 years old, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on January 25th at home, surrounded by family, after a courageous journey with brain cancer.

Sara was known for her kind, loving, caring, strong, and faithful spirit. She had a heart for every person she ever met, driven by her passion for the Lord and a desire to continually learn more and share with others the promises and love of Jesus. She found great joy in working with children and investing in them with an overflowing love, genuinely keeping the name of each child in her heart and offering help to anyone in need.

She faced her illness-a brain tumor-with remarkable courage and grace. Even through the darkest days of terminal, aggressive cancer and treatment, the love and joy she demonstrated were undeniable. Sara spoke the hope that we have in Jesus into every soul that crossed her path, leaving a legacy that has and will continue to impact many people here on this earth. Her love for Jesus and others has inspired all who knew her.

Sara is survived by her loving husband of 21 years, Mark, and their two amazing daughters, Kylie and Julie Nichols. She is also survived by her loving parents, Owen and Sue DeBoer; her sister and brother-in-law, Lori and Eric Sturman; and her niece and nephew, Tyler and Addison.

We eagerly await the day we will be reunited with Sara in Heaven and rejoice in the fact she has been healed, made whole, and is resting in the arms of our loving Savior.
