Stephen Anthony
Ott
Nov 12, 1958 — Sep 3, 2026
Ballwin
Stephen Anthony Ott, age 67, died on Thursday, September 3, 2026.
Steve was the beloved husband of Diana for 43 years; the deeply loved father of Katherine "Katie" Ott Bradley and father-in-law of Josh Bradley; and the adoring G-Pops of his sweet little granddaughter, Genevieve Grace.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George A. Ott and Frances Pappas Ott, and his father-in-law, Delbert Metheny. He was the dearly loved brother of Michael (Kathy) Ott and Mary Jo (Alan) Peterson; the beloved son-in-law of Norma Metheny; the brother-in-law of Mike and Melissa Metheny; and a treasured uncle, great-uncle, cousin, godfather, and friend.
Steve graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in finance and later earned his MBA from Washington University in St. Louis. After a distinguished 28-year career at Anheuser-Busch, where he served as Director of Category Management, Steve began a new chapter as a Senior Research Analyst at Asset Consulting Group, bringing together his lifelong interests in investing and analytics.
During the final nine years of his life, Steve faced an almost unimaginable succession of cancers and other serious illnesses. He endured surgeries, treatments, setbacks, and recoveries that would have overwhelmed most people, meeting each new challenge with extraordinary strength and determination. Again and again, he survived what should have been unsurvivable. He continued working, traveling, cheering for his teams, serving his church, loving his family, and living his life. He was, quite simply, a rock star.
And let no one say that Steve lost his battle with cancer. When he died, he took the cancer with him; it did not survive him, either. The contest ended in a tie-and now it has gone into overtime, where Steve has the unmistakable home-field advantage in heaven.
A devoted Missouri Tigers fan, Steve happily added the Indiana Hoosiers to his loyalties after Katie graduated from Indiana University.
Steve was a faithful and dedicated member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, where he served for many years on the Parish Council. His parish was an important part of his life, and he gave generously of his time and talents to the community he loved.
