Obituary

Stephen Andrew "Steve" Hubbell, 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 15, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Penn Yan, New York, he was the son of the late Ralph E. and Effie (née Egelston) Hubbell. Steve graduated from Evangel College and began his career in education before transitioning into sales, where he later retired from Jack Links after spending extensive time at Nestle.

Steve was the beloved husband of Patricia "Patti" Hubbell (née Biederman). He was preceded in death by his oldest sons, Stephen Andrew Hubbell II and Aaron Andrew Hubbell. He was a devoted father of Michael Andrew (Christina) Hubbell, Lindsey Marie (Todd) Knight, and Amber Kathleen (Christian) Bruns, and the proud grandfather of Austin, Alex, Lucas, Daniel, Jacob, Reagan, Madison, Pierce, Brooklyn, Taylor, and Nash.

He was a dear brother of Ralph and Mary Hubbell, Lucienne and Alf Endersen, Ken and Pat Hubbell, Dorothy and Jack Brickey, and Paul and Linda Hubbell. Steve cherished his extended family and maintained lifelong friendships that meant the world to him.

A man of deep and abiding faith, Steve centered his life on his love for the Lord Jesus Christ and raised his family on that strong foundation. He was quick-witted and playfully sarcastic, always ready with a tease for those he loved. Beneath that humor was a gentle, tender-hearted man who was happiest surrounded by family and friends. Nothing brought him greater pride or joy than cheering on his grandchildren in their many activities and accomplishments.

Steve's life was marked by love, adventure, laughter, and treasured memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses at St. Luke's Hospital for their compassionate care. We are especially thankful that Steve's final wish—to return home—was granted. Though his family longed for more time, they find comfort in their faith and in the promise of his joyful reunion in Heaven with those who went before him. May he rest eternally in the arms of his Heavenly Father.
