Susan Sherman
Talley
Jul 14, 1981 — May 7, 2024
Chesterfield
A gifted educator, caring mother, and beloved wife, Susan Sherman Talley died Tuesday afternoon, May 7, 2024, in an automobile accident.
Sweet Susan was a light and gift from God. She was born in St. Louis, MO July 14, 1981, second child of Gil and Victoria Sherman.
She graduated from Parkway Central High School in 1999, Drury University (Springfield M0) in 2003. She married Samuel J. Talley July 5, 2003, in Ballwin MO, living in Missouri for most of her life, except for four years when she moved with husband and young sons to Fairbanks, Alaska.
She knew how to bring joy and routine both to her family and her professional community. Most recently Director of Claymont Preschool at St. Mark Presbyterian Church, her positive energy was contagious.
She was a strong presence, without seeking the limelight, passionately volunteering for Highcroft Ridge PTO, for Boy Scouts of America, for the neighborhood swim club, and other family organizations.
She was an avid quilt-maker, crocheter, a plant lover, a beautiful singer, and maker of a loving home. Signs of her intentional joy and unconditional love cover the walls and light up every corner of her home.
She is survived by a devoted husband, Samuel J. Talley; two loving sons, Sean and Spencer; a proud mother, Victoria Sherman; a dear sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Matthew George and their children Jason and Karah; caring mother- and father-in-law, Edith and Paul Talley, sister-in-law, Jennifer Talley, aunt, Vicki Sherman, and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
