Thomas Gordon "Gordie" Mathew, January 20th, 1959-March 19th, 2026

Thomas Gordon "Gordie" Mathew, age 67, passed peacefully on Thursday, March 19th, 2026 in his home in Ellisville, Missouri.

A devoted brother and friend, Gordie loved working around the house or at his shop, "Rusty Rockers," attending car auctions, and riding his Harley. Those who knew Gordie admired his dedication to his career as a commercial pilot, his love of history, and his passion for classic cars. A "chat" with Gordie could last for hours as he shared his encyclopedic knowledge of aviation, classic films, or World War II, and his friends and family will sorely miss long conversations over pots of coffee.

He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Gordon Mathew, Jr., and his mother, Mary Alice Mathew (nee Shields).

He is survived by his two sisters, Elizabeth (Mark) Rosebrough and Dr. Mary (Jeffrey) Simmons, eight nieces and nephews, nine great-nieces and nephews, and numerous friends who were like family to him.

Visitation at the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, on Saturday, April 18th at 11:30 a.m. followed by funeral mass at at Holy Infant Catholic Church, 627 Dennison Road, Ballwin, MO at 1:30 p.m. Friends may sign the family's on-line guestbook at Schrader.com.
