William "Bill"
Grenko
Feb 18, 1938 — Jun 10, 2026
Eureka
William "Bill" Grenko passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, in Eureka, Missouri, at the age of 88. He was a proud Marine, a dedicated family man, and a man of quiet faith who lived his life with hard work, generosity, and a sharp sense of humor.
Born in Centerville, Iowa, Bill spent the majority of his life in Bettendorf. A devoted provider, he retired after more than 40 years of dedicated service from the ALCOA Davenport Works. Though a man of simple means, Bill was incredibly generous, always working hard to ensure his children had opportunities he never had himself.
His time in the U.S. Marine Corps profoundly shaped the rest of his life. Bill proudly flew the USMC flag alongside the Stars and Stripes, and wore his Marine emblem with pride up to the day he passed.
In his free time, Bill truly enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He was an avid sports fan, always rooting for the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Green Bay Packers. He loved the excitement of betting on harness racing, playing video poker at the riverboat casinos, watching classic Westerns, and listening to Elvis Presley-especially any tribute singers he could find.
Bill is reunited in rest with his parents, Joseph and Cecelia, and his siblings, Ron and Joan.
He leaves behind: his beloved wife of 66 years: Oleta Grenko; his brother: Don "Doc" Grenko; his three sons: Bill, Bob, and Mike; his legacy: 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Bill's military service and life are honored on his official Veterans Legacy Memorial page. The family invites you to visit, share a favorite memory, and celebrate his life: William Francis Grenko Memorial .
