William "Will"
Johnston
May 28, 1989 — May 15, 2026
High Ridge
William "Will" Johnston, age 36, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, May 15, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at home. Though his passing leaves an immeasurable ache in the hearts of those who loved him, Will leaves behind a legacy of laughter, honesty, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends.
Born on May 28, 1989, in Mobile, Alabama, Will was the beloved son of Robert and Connie (Anderson) Johnston. He was the devoted husband of nearly 14 years to his "Dream Girl," Tiphanie (Owens) Johnston, and the proud and loving father of Starlie Johnston. He was also a cherished older brother of Jared (Sara) Johnston and Nathan Johnston, a loving uncle, and a deeply treasured friend to many.
Will was intelligent, creative, funny, thoughtful, and wonderfully nerdy in all the best ways. He loved board games, storytelling, technology, strategy discussions, and creating meaningful memories with the people he loved. Some of the happiest moments of his life were spent gathered around a table filled with games, snacks, laughter, and friends. If Heaven has tabletop games, endless snacks, and lively conversations, Will is probably already thriving there.
Those who knew him will remember his giant heart, quick wit, loyalty, and the way he made ordinary moments feel special. He had a gift for making people feel welcome and cared for simply by being himself. The world feels quieter without him in it, but his love and influence will continue living on through everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Even in his final quest, Will continued thinking of others. Helping people was deeply important to him, which is why he chose to become an organ donor - one final act of generosity and heroism from someone who spent his life caring about others.
Will is survived by his loving wife, Tiphanie Johnston; his beloved daughter, Starlie; his mother, Connie Johnston; his brothers, Jared (Sara) Johnston and Nathan Johnston; extended family members; dear friends; gaming companions; and countless people whose lives were touched by his kindness and love.
Services will be held at the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin on Sunday, May 24, 2026.
