Upon graduation from Jennings High School, Ron enlisted in the navy. After serving one term, he returned home to marry his high school sweetheart, Joanne Keymer. He worked in the Tool & Die industry.
Ron and Joanne spent their 57 years together with God and family as their focus. They actively participated in church life with Ron serving on various boards and being an Elder for many years. They also participated in Bible study groups and Joanne sang with the church band. They also volunteered at Heit's Point and Agape Help House.
As a family, they traveled all over the United States camping and creating priceless memories. They passed family values and an adventuresome spirit to all their children. Their house was always the local hangout for kids…mostly because Ron like to join in (and instigate) the fun. He was known for his good sense of humor and welcoming personality wherever he went. When Ron was there, a practical joke most likely would ensue. He had a fun-loving air about him.
It was very important to Ron to pass on the love of Jesus to everyone they met. He and Joanne went on mission trips to Hooper Bay, Alaska several times and developed strong relationships. They camped through last year and continued sharing God's love wherever they went.
