Obituary

Chandrakant Manganlal Shah passed away peacefully at home in Chesterfield, Missouri, on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, surrounded by family. He fought a lengthy and brave battle with Parkinson's Disease.

Beloved husband of late Pushpaben Shah; father of Nimish Shah, Rima Shah, and Nishma Shah; grandfather of Neil Shah; brother of Jayaben Shah, late Shashikant Shah, late Mansukhlal Shah, Sudha Shah, and Varsha Shah; dear uncle, cousin, and friend of many.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, wife Pushpaben Shah, and both brothers.

Chandrakant was born in 1939 in Kisumu, Kenya, as the third of six children. He worked hard, first as a paralegal, and as a bookkeeper, and then as a business owner, sending his son to the U.S. for university education. In 1991, he and his wife immigrated to Charlotte, North Carolina, and continued his entrepreneurial spirit, owning a hotel. He and his family then moved to Wildwood, Missouri in 1999, and in 2003, established Chesterfield Cleaners, where he worked until his retirement in 2007. Fondly known as 'CM', he was a very calm and generous person, and he deeply cared about his family, and will be dearly missed.

The family appreciates the outstanding care provided by Dr. Joel Perlmutter, Dr. Linda Stronach, NP Johanna Hartlein, Therapist Kelli Hansen, Dr. Scott Groesch, Dr. Sameer Kirtane, Dr. Hashim Raza and Dr. Peter McDonnell over the years.

Services: Services will be private, followed by cremation at the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory on Sunday, April 10th, 2022. Chandrakant's brain was donated to the Department of Neurology at the Washington University School of Medicine to help find a cure for Parkinson's Disease. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Department of Neurology, care of Dr. Joel Perlmutter, at the Washington University School of Medicine .
