Henry Donald
Lovelace Jr.
Mar 7, 1963 — Jan 15, 2022
Ballwin
Henry Donald Lovelace Jr. died suddenly Saturday, January 15th, at the age of 58. Born March 7th, 1963, he leaves behind the two people he loved most in the world; his son, SGT Henry Donald Lovelace III (Toni), and Alexandria Ann Lovelace (William Crisler), who was literally following in his footsteps as a personal fitness trainer, competitor and manager at his gym, Wild Horse Fitness.
Also surviving Henry, his life partner Nancy Stirmlinger with whom he shared a home. Nancy convinced Henry to take Sundays off for the first time in his life, no small feat, and a testament to the fact that he had met his match.
Henry is survived by his ex-wife Teresa Allen, with whom he had a positive and successful co-parenting relationship. They recently shared the joy together at their son's wedding.
Henry leaves behind his brother Daniel Lovelace (Marybeth) and sister Joan Lovelace (Henry Bangert). If you knew Henry, you know there was nothing left unsaid between them, including discussions about their fitness lives and advice on how Joan would maintain her weight in her advancing years.
Henry is survived by his nephew Eric Lovelace, his niece Samantha Abrams (Brian Cobb) and nephew Jonathan Abrams (Tripti Soni). All three of them have countless memories of their Uncle Donnie.
Henry was known not just for his unparalleled skill in the fitness world, but as a man who pulled no punches. His "one liners" could really stick; "eat it and weep," and "lighten up Frances! It's going to be okay."
His son said my dad was "perfectly flawed" he had a wicked and sometimes cringe-worthy sense of humor, an unmatched drive to do and be the best, and when the people he loved needed him, he showed up.
Those who saw him last says he died with a smile on his face. No doubt, if he had time for a final thought, it would have been about his children first, and then his creator. Probably something like "So you really need help up there right NOW? Then let's get after it!"
